Heathen Life blog

I purchased this piece of glory online yesterday and this morning I awoke to the three wolves and moon hovering like a hologram over my chest. When I looked in the mirror one of the wolves turned to me and said, “soon you will be one with us” and then continued to howl alongside his kin. I told them to keep it down so they didn’t wake my roommate but it was too late. My roommate busted out of his room in a such a rage for being awoken at such an ungodly hour that he attempted to fight me. Little did he know the power of the wolves. Their magical powers emitted from my glowing chest and with one swift swoop I was standing in an empty room with no one or anything in sight. It was like the power of the spirit wolves magically transported me to my own quiet solitude where I can live out my days in peace.

This was the review I left from my purchase on Amazon.com. There are others like it from all across the globe by people that are as fascinated by these mystical creatures as I am.

New World Brewery Blog

This is a nice place to hang out and relax after viewing Tampa, Ybor, or any of the surrounding areas for the day. The jukebox is excellent though it was playing songs that weren't listed sometimes which I found a little odd. Good selection of beers and friendly atmosphere at the bar with a number of tables outside for more private conversation.

There was a cover the night I went to pay the bands that were performing, we went in well before the music started and were not charged because we knew one of the bands but they make everyone pay the cover who is already inside as well.

I put this as a bit pricey but it is average for the area, just more expensive than places in a less touristy area.

Commuting via Bike Tips

What kind of bike works best for commuting? How should I equip it (including lighting)? What should I carry with me? What should I wear? How should I wash up at work? Have I missed any important questions?

These are the questions we see most frequently from new commuters. Before starting a new thread, take a look through here to see if it answers your questions. Feel free to add additional questions and, more importantly, to put in your two cents.

Vintage Bike Question

I currently have a campagnolo 8 Speed group set on my bike which i really like. I have a set of American

classic wheels with a shimano free hub. I would love to use these wheels on my bike. I know I will have to change the free hub to a campagnolo. My question is: Are campagnolo free hubs compatible with 8,9,10 speed like shimano.
Thanks

Portland is Awesome

It was late-ish, I was in Downtown Portland and I could hear my heels clickity-clacking down the street. Soon enough, I heard another set of clickity-clacks, speeding up to me. The lady smiled at me and said, “Hey, let’s walk together! So we don’t look so alone.” So I let her walk with me. She asked where I was going, I told her, Berbati’s Pan, to see a burlesque show. She was a bit alarmed that I wasn’t exactly sure of the address, just sort of sure. She insisted that the street I was looking for was actually on the other side of the river.

She offered to give me a ride in her car. I tried to talk my way away from her, but she refused to let me go without first trying to use the pay phone to call 411 to ask for directions. (It didn’t work.) Then she stopped a poor lady passing by, jabbering on her cell phone.

The first lady, asked cell phone lady if she knew where Berbati’s Pan was. Then she insisted she ask the person on the other side of the phone to look it up. I stood there dumbfounded as the cell phone girl actually slowly and carefully spelled the bar’s name. She soon told me the exact address and gave me directions on how to get there from where we were all standing. At this point a very drunk homeless man came charging through, declaring that it was rude for us to stand in the middle of the sidewalk, so I was glad to be surrounded by others.

The lady looked a bit defeated that she was wrong about the address and would not be able to save a damsel in (not really) distress. I thanked them both and headed over to the club.

I realized after, that I did not learn their names, so, Lady #1: You freaked me the hell out, but thanks for caring so much about my safety. and Lady #2: Thanks. And thank you for not decking us when we asked you for help.
